Steve Kinnaird sent me a fretboard, bridge and overlay of Tex ebony, I cant wait to use it!
Its going on my all domestic wood guitar, Sycamore B&S, Douglas fir top, walnut neck and bindings, and of course the TexEb.

Ill probably give it a good'ol American BURST TOO!

Fine work, gentlemen! Be sure to let us see the whole thing when it's done.

That top's a little pale, though...

I'm here. Thanks from me as well for the kind comments, amigos. One could almost think that "It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about the guitar, so long as our buddies at the OLF approve!"
Almost.
See, we do want to sell this guy, so's we can start another guitar.

Anthony and Larry, yes there is such a thing as Tex. Ebony. It is not a true ebony, but that is its common name. It is in fact related to mesquite, only it has that much darker heartwood, and it seems much harder than does most mesquite. I'll post a pic or two of the finished neck when I get the camera.

Thanks again guys,

Steve

Ok, here's a couple--or so--shots of the neck.
It only has a coat of vinyl sealer on it, but it gives the idea of finished product.
We're hoping to get Craig L. to do some of his wizardry on the fretboard. What say, Craig? Do you see any room here for something Lavin-like?

Oh yes, this first shot gives the color of the Texas ebony.

Thanks for looking.

Steve
